Honeydew View is a visual novel about the complicated relationship between LGBT youth and their bodies/the world around them, told through the narratives of humans and some supernatural beings in high school.

As Lead Writer on this project, I wrote over 20,000 words of branching dialogue and designed a cast of characters with unique personalities and identities, pulling from my own experiences to craft authentic backgrounds. 

Additionally, my responsibilities included:

  • Creating and iterating on a narrative and cast of characters, adapting both to the game's scope throughout development.

  • Participating in weekly meetings to discuss progress and narrative design.

  • Testing weekly builds for narrative feel, bugs, and UI design, reporting to engineering with feedback.

  • Using Unity Engine to prototype dialogue and test the game's narrative flow. 

Demoed at Gameheads Student Expo 2018 and featured in Polygon.
